Description

The status of the opening round of the 2026 Al Ain Championship (originally scheduled for April 1, 2026) is currently mired in uncertainty following the total cancellation of the MENA Tour’s Jordan Series. While the event at the Al Ain Equestrian, Shooting & Golf Club is meant to be the grand finale of the 2025–26 season, the strategic narrative has shifted from trophy preparations to a survival assessment for the tour’s final swing.

The primary hurdle for the field is the ongoing regional conflict that has already claimed the events in Aqaba. For the players, the tactical focus of navigating Al Ain’s lush, palm-lined fairways and notoriously fast greens has been replaced by travel logistics and safety concerns. The headline story for Round 1 is whether the MENA Tour can successfully relocate its operations to the UAE to crown a season champion. With an official status update due on March 16, the golf world is waiting to see if this $100,000 finale will proceed or if the season will end abruptly in the wake of regional instability.
