Description

Joe Harris of the Brooklyn Nets pulled off a massive upset to win the 2019 Three-Point Contest, defeating hometown hero Stephen Curry in the final round. Harris was nearly perfect in the finale, starting the round by hitting his first nine shots and finishing with 26 points. Curry, who started the round by making ten consecutive buckets, went cold in the middle racks and finished with 24 points, failing to catch Harris on the final rack.
In the opening round, Curry led all scorers with 27 points, while Buddy Hield (26) and Harris (25) secured the other spots in the finals. Defending champion Devin Booker and local legend Dirk Nowitzki were eliminated early, though Nowitzki received a standing ovation from the Charlotte crowd after a respectable 17-point performance.
