The 2026 season officially goes green at Sebring International Raceway with a 50-minute sprint that tests both speed and mechanical sympathy. The primary challenge for the 39-car field is managing the "Pirelli drop-off" on the abrasive concrete sections, especially during the mandatory mid-race pit stop window (between minutes 20 and 30). The objective for pole-sitter Will Bamber is to utilize the clean air at the start to build a gap before the Pro-Am and Am traffic becomes a factor during the closing stages.

Strategically, teams like Wayne Taylor Racing with Andretti (WTR) and ANSA Motorsports will be watching the brake temperatures closely, as Sebring’s heavy braking zones—particularly into "The Hairpin" and "Sunset Bend"—can induce fade in the Florida heat. With a record-high entry list, the "Snake Pit" (Turns 16–18) is expected to be the primary theater for overtakes, requiring drivers to balance aggression with the need to keep the car intact for tomorrow’s second round.

Result Description
Will Bamber and Elias De La Torre converted their pole position into a flawless victory, leading every lap to secure the first win of the 2026 season for TR3 Racing. Bamber took the green flag and immediately established a 1.5-second lead over Hampus Ericsson. Despite a mid-race Full Course Yellow (FCY) caused by an LB Cup car sliding into the tires at Turn 10, the TR3 duo executed a perfect pit stop, allowing De La Torre to bring the No. 29 Lamborghini home with a comfortable 2.8-second margin.

The battle for the remaining podium steps was a WTR intra-team affair. Hampus Ericsson and Nick Persing secured second place, successfully fending off a late-race charge from their teammates Danny Formal and Graham Doyle. Formal, competing in the Pro-Am class, put on a masterclass by finishing third overall and claiming the class victory. ANSA Motorsports saw a strong debut from Tommi Gore, who finished fourth in the Pro category, while the Am class victory went to Anthony McIntosh, who navigated a chaotic final five minutes to move up three positions.
