The Monster Energy AMA Supercross returned to Huntington Bank Field in Cleveland on Saturday, April 18, 2026, for a high-stakes Triple Crown event. The primary challenge for the 250SX East field was a rapidly deteriorating track surface due to heavy afternoon rainfall. The objective for the first of three Main Events was to establish a solid foundation for the overall podium, as the Triple Crown format rewards consistency across the three-race sprint.

Strategically, the goal of Main Event 1 was to secure a clean start on the slippery Ohio clay. The tactical focus centered on the battle between the Star Racing Yamaha powerhouse and Pro Circuit Kawasaki's Seth Hammaker. While the veterans aimed to manage the slick conditions, the ultimate goal was to survive the 12-minute plus one-lap sprint without a major mistake that could jeopardize the night's overall results.

Result Description
Seth Hammaker claimed a dominant victory in the opening 250SX Main Event of the Cleveland Triple Crown. Hammaker’s primary objective was to overcome the Yamaha-heavy front row, and he achieved this by pressuring Nate Thrasher early in the race. After Thrasher grabbed the initial lead, Hammaker bided his time before executing a decisive pass for the lead with just over three minutes remaining on the clock. Once in clean air, he pulled away to win by a comfortable 4.2-second margin.

The race was defined by the struggles of the championship leader. Cole Davies moved into the second position halfway through the moto and appeared to be chasing down the leaders before a costly crash with six minutes remaining dropped him to sixth. He managed a late-race recovery to pass Coty Schock on the final lap, salvaging a top-five finish. Nate Thrasher held on for a steady second-place result, while Daxton Bennick completed the podium in third. Rookie Landen Gordon showed impressive poise in the mud to finish fourth, setting the stage for what would eventually become an all-Yamaha overall podium later in the night.
