NASCAR’s "Too Tough to Tame" lived up to its reputation as the Craftsman Truck Series rolled into Darlington Raceway for the fourth race of the 2026 season. The primary challenge for the field was navigating the high-tire-wear surface and the narrow line between the apron and the outside wall. The objective for the drivers was not only to secure a win but also to claim the first $50,000 Triple Truck Challenge bonus of the season.

Strategically, the race was expected to be a battle between technical specialists and aggressive "cup-level" talent. Kaden Honeycutt emerged as the early favorite after capturing his first career pole position, aiming to leverage his track position. Meanwhile, series heavyweights like Christian Eckes and part-timer Corey Heim faced the goal of managing their equipment through long green-flag runs while staying clear of the inevitable "Darlington Stripes" that would define the night.

Result Description
Corey Heim pulled off a stunning upset to win the Buckle Up South Carolina 200, snatching the victory from Ross Chastain on the final lap of a double-overtime finish. Driving the No. 5 Toyota for TRICON Garage, Heim's path to victory was a strategic gamble; he pitted for five-lap scuffed tires during a late-race caution while most leaders stayed out. This move initially buried him in 15th place for the first overtime attempt.

The race was extended to 157 laps due to a series of late incidents, including a multi-truck wreck involving Ben Rhodes and Tyler Ankrum. On the final restart, Heim surged from ninth to second, eventually diving deep into the final corner to slide past Chastain’s No. 45 Chevrolet. Heim claimed the checkered flag by a narrow 0.145-second margin, securing his 24th career win and the $50,000 Triple Truck Challenge bonus. Pole-sitter Kaden Honeycutt led a race-high 59 laps but ultimately finished fourth behind Christian Eckes.
