The NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series rolls into EchoPark Speedway for the Fr8 208, the second race of the 2026 season. Following a chaotic opener at Daytona, the drivers face the unique challenge of Atlanta's reconfigured surface, which blends the high-speed drafting of a superspeedway with the tight confines of a 1.5-mile intermediate track. All eyes are on veteran Kyle Busch, who makes his first start of the year for Spire Motorsports, as well as the young guns of TRICON Garage who look to solidify their early championship standing. With the high banking demanding perfect execution in the draft, fans can expect a frantic afternoon of pack racing where position is everything.

Result Description
Kyle Busch proved once again why he is the master of the Truck Series, securing a record ninth victory at Atlanta in a dramatic, time-shortened Fr8 208. Driving the No. 7 Spire Motorsports Chevrolet, Busch engaged in a fierce battle with his own teammate, Carson Hocevar, and veteran Stewart Friesen throughout the final stage. The race was officially put on a clock by NASCAR due to adverse track conditions, meaning the white flag would fly at exactly 4:20 PM local time. Busch timed his final charge perfectly, utilizing a push from Hocevar to reclaim the lead for good in the closing minutes and taking the checkered flag by a narrow margin of 0.114 seconds.

The event was a roller coaster of strategy and endurance. Ben Rhodes appeared to be the dominant force early on, leading a race-high 70 laps and winning the battle for the top spot in several exchanges, but a mid-race fuel issue forced him into a recovery drive. Meanwhile, Stewart Friesen took advantage of the chaos to win Stage 2, while 2025 champion Corey Heim claimed the first stage before finishing fifth. The race was also notable for its attrition, including a late-race caution involving Cole Butcher and Dawson Sutton that set up the frantic sprint to the time cutoff.

The victory marks Busch’s 68th career win in the series, further extending his all-time record. Behind the Spire 1-2 finish, Gio Ruggiero claimed a career-best third place, followed by the resilient Ben Rhodes and Corey Heim. The result shakes up the early season points, though Daytona winner Chandler Smith remains at the top of the standings after a solid sixth-place finish.
