Event Statistics Description
The NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series returned to the legendary Firebird Motorsports Park in Chandler, Arizona, for the 41st annual Arizona Nationals. Celebrating the NHRA’s 75th Anniversary, the primary challenge for the field was battling "oppressive heat," with track temperatures soaring above 140°F. The objective for the 12,000-horsepower machines was to find traction on a tricky surface that favored precision over raw power.
In Top Fuel, the spotlight was on rookie sensation Maddi Gordon, making only her second professional start, as she aimed to secure her first career No. 1 qualifier. In Funny Car, reigning Rookie of the Year Spencer Hyde sought redemption after failing to qualify at this venue a year ago. Meanwhile, Pro Stock legend Greg Anderson entered the weekend looking to extend his record-breaking legacy by capturing his 141st career No. 1 qualifying position.

Shawn Langdon continued his absolute dominance in Phoenix, securing a "three-peat" by winning the event for the third consecutive year. Langdon, driving the Kalitta Air dragster, defeated Leah Pruett in the final round with a consistent 3.877-second pass at 325.45 mph.
The most emotional victory of the day belonged to Ron Capps in Funny Car. After surviving a massive engine explosion in the quarterfinals that left his car in flames, Capps and his team—with help from rival crews—thrashed to rebuild the car in time for the semifinals. Capps completed the "miracle comeback" by defeating Spencer Hyde in the final with a 4.124-second run. In Pro Stock, Dallas Glenn earned redemption for a 2025 runner-up finish, defeating Cody Coughlin with a 6.627-second pass to take the event win and the points lead.
