The second leg of IMSA’s "36 Hours of Florida" takes the WeatherTech SportsCar Championship to the brutal, concrete-laden Sebring International Raceway. The primary challenge for the 55-car field is the legendary bumpiness of the 3.74-mile former airfield, which tests the structural integrity of the high-tech GTP hybrids. For the Porsche Penske Motorsport squad, the objective is to maintain their perfect start to the season following their Daytona triumph.

Strategically, the race is a war of attrition where the goal is simply to be on the lead lap during the final hour. Jack Aitken, starting from the pole in the No. 31 Whelen Cadillac, aims to use his track position to stay clear of the multi-class traffic "chaos" that often decides the race in the transition from day to night. With 11 GTP entries and a deep GTD Pro field, the tactical priority for teams is balancing aggressive pace with the extreme tire degradation caused by Sebring's abrasive surface.

Result Description
The 2026 Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring concluded with Felipe Nasr defying team orders to lead a historic Porsche Penske Motorsport 1-2 finish. Despite a mid-race drive-through penalty that dropped them to the back of the GTP pack, the No. 7 Porsche 963 trio of Nasr, Julien Andlauer, and Laurin Heinrich clawed back into contention. The defining moment occurred with 64 minutes remaining when Nasr ignored a "hold station" request and executed a bold inside pass on teammate Kévin Estre at Turn 17 to take the lead for good.

The victory marks Porsche’s 20th overall win at Sebring and the second consecutive "36 Hours of Florida" sweep for the Nasr-led crew. In the other classes, United Autosports USA secured their first IMSA 1-2 in LMP2 with the No. 2 ORECA driven by Mikkel Jensen, Philip Fayer, and Hunter McElrea. The GTD Pro class saw a debut win for the "Grello" Manthey Racing Porsche, while Antonio Fuoco delivered a stunning final-lap pass on Tom Gamble’s Aston Martin to snatch the GTD victory for AF Corse.
