Description

The 2026 FIA Formula 3 Austrian Sprint Race at the Red Bull Ring was won by Red Bull Junior driver Ernesto Rivera of Campos Racing. Starting from P2, the 17-year-old Mexican overtook reverse-grid pole-sitter James Wharton on Lap 14 to secure his maiden Formula 3 victory. A dramatic penultimate-lap mistake by Wharton subsequently allowed Pedro Clerot and Jin Nakamura to execute final-lap overtakes to claim the remaining podium spots.
The Winning Move: After the restart, James Wharton built a solid gap, but Rivera slowly chipped away utilizing DRS. On Lap 14, Rivera executed a brave maneuver around the outside of Wharton at Turn 4 to snatch the lead.
