Staged at the Hazeltine National Golf Club in Chaska, Minnesota, the $13 million tournament featured a dramatic record-setting comeback. Ryu opened with an over-par 73 on Thursday, trailing the first-round leader, Ina Yoon, by 10 strokes. Ryu fought back by changing her putter, carding rounds of 64, 68, and a final-round 70 to claim a two-shot victory over Yoon. With this win, Ryu became the first player in at least 60 years to win a major championship after trailing by 10 or more shots in the opening round.
World No. 1 Nelly Korda, who entered the week chasing her third consecutive major championship of the 2026 season, finished tied for eighth place at 6 under par after struggling with her short game and double-bogeying the 16th hole during Sunday's final round.
