Lauren Coughlin (USA), Miyu Yamashita (JPN), and Nasa Hataoka (JPN) surged to the top of the leaderboard in the opening round, each carding an impressive 5-under-par 67. Coughlin, who finished runner-up at this venue in 2025, utilized her extensive course knowledge to navigate the morning conditions with six birdies and just one bogey. Yamashita, the reigning Women’s British Open champion, highlighted her round with a spectacular eagle on the par-5 18th to join the lead.
