Description Rally Japan is a rally competition held in Hokkaidō, Japan. The event made its debut in the FIA World Rally Championship during the 2004 season. From 2004 to 2007, the event was held on the twisty and narrow gravel roads of the Tokachi region near Obihiro. For the 2008 season, the event was moved to the region close to Sapporo, Hokkaidō's main city. Rally Japan was not held in 2009, but returned in 2010 for one year. Rally Japan was planned to return in 2020 to the new location of Nagoya, but was cancelled on August 19 due to COVID-19 pandemic in Japan. It was cancelled again in 2021, and has been confirmed to make its debut as the last rally of the season in 2022.

Result Description
Welshman Elfyn Evans won the 2026 FORUM8 Rally Japan, driving for the Toyota Gazoo Racing World Rally Team (TGR-WRT). The event concluded on 31 May 2026. It served as round seven of the 14-race 2026 FIA World Rally Championship (WRC) calendar.
The victory marks Evans' second win of the season and his 50th career WRC podium. It extends his lead in the WRC Drivers' Championship to 151 points—putting him 20 points ahead of team-mate Takamoto Katsuta.
Oliver Solberg was one of Evans' closest threats until he went off the road and crashed on Stage 10 (SS10), breaking his rear suspension and spoiling his victory bid. Solberg did recover later to take maximum points on Super Sunday by winning the Power Stage. Local hero Takamoto Katsuta fought back to 4th despite a puncture on the opening leg.
