Terence “Bud” Crawford defeated Saúl “Canelo” Álvarez by unanimous decision, with scores of 116-112, 115-113, and 115-113. Moving up two weight divisions, Crawford relied on speed, movement, and sharp counters to control most of the fight. Canelo had success to the body and in short bursts but couldn’t consistently cut off the ring or impose his power.

With the victory, Crawford became the undisputed super-middleweight champion and the first male boxer of the four-belt era to claim undisputed status in three weight classes. He improved to 42-0 (31 KOs), while Canelo acknowledged the result and praised Crawford’s performance after the bout.
