LFA will return to the Land of 10,000 Lakes in April. LFA 206 will feature a Welterweight Showdown in the main event. The event will be the twenty-fourth LFA event to take place in the state of Minnesota. Twenty-three of these events have taken place at the Mystic Lake Casino Hotel, which is located just 25 minutes southwest of the Twin Cities.
LFA 206: Gennrich vs. Lebosnoyani, presented by Monster Energy, takes place Friday, April 11th at the Mystic Lake Casino Hotel in Prior Lake, Minnesota. The main event will feature a Welterweight Showdown between former LFA champion Kegan “Machine Gun” Gennrich and former LFA title challenger Jean-Paul “Mufasa” Lebosnoyani. The entire main card will be available worldwide on UFC FIGHT PASS® at 9 p.m. ET / 6 p.m. PT.
Gennrich (9-3) started last year in a big way by becoming the first man in MMA to capture a major world title in 2024. He did this by dethroning JaCobi Jones in the main event of LFA 174. The win made Gennrich the ninth lightweight champion in LFA history, but it was his run to the title that was just as impressive. It included a 6-fight win streak with a pair of wins in 2023 that earned him the shot at the title. More impressively, was the level of competition he faced along the way. That includes becoming the first and only man to defeat top contender Richie Miranda. He then ended the year with a bloody submission win over Donald Bush. That win earned him the title shot against Jones. Gennrich dominated the champion en route to a submission win in the final round. Now the former University of Wisconsin wrestler looks to do what his next opponent has already done by reinventing himself as a force in the welterweight division.
Lebosnoyani (7-2) was born into jiu-jitsu royalty as his father is Nono Lebosnoyani. Nono is a black belt in jiu-jitsu and hapkido. In fact, he learned jiu-jitsu from Hélio Gracie and then coached Hélio’s son, UFC Hall of Fame member Royce Gracie, during his legendary career. Nono also began teaching Jean-Paul jiu-jitsu by the time he was 3-years-old and Jean-Paul began competing himself at the age of 5. The younger Lebosnoyani would win age-group titles for IBJJF, NAGA, and the Gracie Nationals. In high school, he would compete four years on the successful Mira Costa High School wrestling team in Manhattan Beach, California. That would make his transition to MMA the next logical progression in his martial arts journey and a year later he made his professional debut at LFA 54. He won that bout with UFC star Brian Ortega in his corner and has never looked back. Now he looks to extend his unbeaten streak at welterweight to 4-0.
