Description

The Johnstone's Paint Masters is snooker's greatest invitation event, first staged in 1975. The history and prestige of the tournament make it one third of snooker's Triple Crown, alongside the World Championship and the UK Championship. Only the top 16 players in the world rankings qualify for the Masters, making it an elite field and providing a huge incentive for players to earn their place. For many years the Masters was staged at Wembley Conference Centre, and since 2012 it has been held at Alexandra Palace, now established as the home of the event.
Robertson replaces Ronnie O'Sullivan who has withdrawn on medical grounds.
