Description The Omega European Masters is the Swiss stop on professional men's golf's European Tour, and in 2009 it became the first event in Europe to be co-sanctioned by the Asian Tour.
Founded as the Swiss Open in 1923, the tournament was prefixed with European Masters in 1983, before dropping Swiss Open from the title in 1992. During the 1971 event, Baldovino Dassù became the first player to score 60 for 18 holes on the European circuit. The tournament has been held at the Golf-Club Crans-sur-Sierre at Crans-Montana in Valais since 1939.
The event takes place Aug 26-29 and has a prize fund of EUR 2,000,000.
Dane Rasmus Højgaard fired a bogey-free 63 final round to earn a one-shot victory over Bernd Wiesberger. Wiesberger made a disastrous double-bogey 6 on the final hole of regulation, handing the tournament to Højgaard after carrying the lead to the final hole.
Henrik Stenson finished alone in third place, two shots out of the lead.
This is his third title at the age of 20 following the 2020 Afrasia Bank Mauritius Open and the 2020 ISPS Handa UK Championship.
