Description

The Masters is an invitational snooker tournament that was first held in 1975, with the top 16 players from the snooker world rankings invited to participate. The 2021 Masters is the second Triple Crown event of the 2020–21 snooker season, following the 2020 UK Championship and preceding the 2021 World Snooker Championship.

Stuart Bingham, who beat Ali Carter in the final last year, will begin the defence of his title against debutant Thepchaiya Un-Nooh. Thailand’s Un-Nooh will become the first player from his country to compete in the Masters since James Wattana in 1999.
The second match of the day features two past world champions Shaun Murphy and Mark Williams.
