The 2025–26 Serie A (known as the Serie A Enilive and Serie A Made in Italy for sponsorship reasons domestically and abroad, respectively) is the 124th season of top-tier Italian football, the 94th in a round-robin tournament, and the 16th since its organization under an own league committee, the Lega Serie A.
The season began on 23 August 2025 and is scheduled to conclude on 24 May 2026. Napoli are the defending champions, having won their fourth Serie A title in the previous season.
On 8 February 2026, a match between AC Milan and Como will be held at Optus Stadium in Perth, Australia. This will mark the first Serie A match to be played outside of Italy.
2024-2025 Season
The 2024–25 Serie A (known as the Serie A Enilive and Serie A Made in Italy for sponsorship reasons domestically and abroad, respectively) was the 123rd season of top-tier Italian football, the 93rd in a round-robin tournament, and the 15th since its organization under an own league committee, the Lega Serie A. Napoli won the title following a 2–0 victory over Cagliari at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona on 23 May 2025.
Napoli's title was their fourth league title in club history and their second in three seasons. Inter Milan, who were the defending champions, finished one point behind Napoli.
2023-2024 Season
The 2023–24 Serie A (known as the Serie A TIM and Serie A Made in Italy for sponsorship reasons domestically and abroad, respectively) was the 122nd season of top-tier Italian football, the 92nd in a round-robin tournament, and the 14th since its organization under an own league committee, the Lega Serie A. Inter Milan won the title with five matches remaining after securing a 2–1 victory over city rivals AC Milan on 22 April 2024 in the iconic Derby della Madonnina.
Inter Milan's title was their 20th league title in club history, thus granting them the right to add a second golden star to their crest, symbolizing twenty league championships. Napoli were the defending champions, having won their third title in the previous season. Napoli finished the season in 10th place — the lowest finish for a defending Serie A champion since AC Milan in the 1996–97 season.
2022-2023 Season
The 2022–23 Serie A (known as the Serie A TIM for sponsorship reasons) was the 121st season of top-tier Italian football, the 91st in a round-robin tournament, and the 13th since its organization under an own league committee, the Lega Serie A. Napoli won the title with five matches remaining after a 1–1 draw against Udinese at the Dacia Arena on 4 May 2023.
Napoli's title was their third league title in club history, and their first since Diego Maradona led the club to their previous title in 1990 — bringing an end to their 33-year Scudetto drought. AC Milan, the defending champions, finished in fourth place.
Napoli's title also marked the first time since Roma in 2001 that a club other than AC Milan, Inter Milan or Juventus had won the Serie A title.
2021-2022 Season
The 2021–22 Serie A (known as the Serie A TIM for sponsorship reasons) was the 120th season of top-tier Italian football, the 90th in a round-robin tournament, and the 12th since its organization under an own league committee, the Lega Serie A. AC Milan won the title after defeating Sassuolo 3–0 at the Mapei Stadium – Città del Tricolore on 22 May 2022, the final matchday of the season.
AC Milan's title marked their 19th league title in their history and their first since 2011. Inter Milan, the defending champions, finished in second place, two points behind AC Milan.
2020-2021 Season
The 2020–21 Serie A (known as the Serie A TIM for sponsorship reasons) was the 119th season of top-tier Italian football, the 89th in a round-robin tournament, and the 11th since its organization under an own league committee, the Lega Serie A. Inter Milan won the title with four matches remaining after second-placed Atalanta drew against Sassuolo.
Inter Milan's title was their 19th in club history and their first in 11 years. It ended Juventus's run of nine consecutive league titles, as they finished in fourth place, 13 points behind Inter Milan.
2019-2020 Season
The 2019–20 Serie A (known as the Serie A TIM for sponsorship reasons) was the 118th season of top-tier Italian football, the 88th in a round-robin tournament, and the 10th since its organization under an own league committee, the Lega Serie A. Juventus, the eight-time defending champions, secured their ninth consecutive Serie A title with a 2–0 victory over Sampdoria on 26 July 2020.
The season was originally scheduled to run from 24 August 2019 to 24 May 2020. On 9 March 2020, the government suspended all sports in the country until 3 April 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic in Italy. The Serie A did not resume on this date however, as the league continued to monitor health conditions. On 18 May, the Italian Football Federation announced that the suspension would continue until 14 June. Ten days later, on 28 May, Italy's sports minister said Serie A would restart on 20 June 2020.
2018-2019 Season
The 2018–19 Serie A (known as the Serie A TIM for sponsorship reasons) was the 117th season of top-tier Italian football, the 87th in a round-robin tournament, and the 9th since its organization under a league committee separate from Serie B. Juventus were the seven-time defending champions and defended their title following their victory against Fiorentina on 20 April 2019. The season was run from 18 August 2018 to 26 May 2019.
2017-2018 Season
The 2017–18 Serie A (known as the Serie A TIM for sponsorship reasons) was the 116th season of top-tier Italian football, the 86th in a round-robin tournament and the 8th since its organization under a league committee separate from Serie B. Juventus were the six-time defending champions. The season ran from 19 August 2017 to 20 May 2018.
On 13 May, Juventus won a record seventh consecutive title and 34th title overall with one game remaining following their 0–0 draw with Roma.
The season was marred by the death of Davide Astori, the captain of Fiorentina, due to heart problems.
2016-2017 Season
The 2016–17 Serie A (known as the Serie A TIM for sponsorship reasons) was the 115th season of top-tier Italian football, the 85th in a round-robin tournament, and the 7th since its organization under a league committee separate from Serie B. Juventus were the defending champions. The season ran from 20 August 2016 to 28 May 2017.
On 21 May, Juventus won a record sixth consecutive title and 33rd title overall with a game in hand following their 3–0 win over Crotone.
2015-2016 Season
The 2015–16 Serie A (known as the Serie A TIM for sponsorship reasons) was the 114th season of top-tier Italian football, the 84th in a round-robin tournament, and the 6th since its organization under a league committee separate from Serie B. Juventus were the defending champions. The campaign began on 22 August 2015 and ended on 15 May 2016.
On 25 April 2016, Juventus succeeded in defending their title for the fifth consecutive season, after second placed Napoli lost to Roma, giving Juventus a 12-point lead with only three games left.
2014-2015 Season
The 2014–15 Serie A (known as the Serie A TIM for sponsorship reasons) was the 113th season of top-tier Italian football, the 83rd in a round-robin tournament, and the fifth since its organization under a league committee separate from Serie B. It began on 30 August 2014.
A total of 20 teams competed in the league: 17 sides from the 2013–14 season and three promoted from the 2013–14 Serie B campaign. Juventus were the defending champions, successfully defending their title for the fourth consecutive time. On 2 May 2015, Juventus won the Scudetto for the fourth consecutive time.
2013-2014 Season
The 2013–14 Serie A (known as the Serie A TIM for sponsorship reasons) was the 112th season of top-tier Italian football, the 82nd in a round-robin tournament, and the 4th since its organization under a league committee separate from Serie B. The season began on 24 August 2013 and concluded on 18 May 2014. As in previous years, Nike provided the official ball for all matches with a new Nike Incyte model used throughout the season. Juventus were the defending champions, and successfully defended their title to win a third Serie A title in a row with a record-breaking 102 points. Juventus's title was also their 30th league title in their history earning them the right to add a third gold star to their crest.
A total of 20 teams competed in the league: 17 sides from the 2012–13 season and three promoted from the 2012–13 Serie B campaign. Palermo, Pescara and Siena were each demoted from the top flight. They were replaced by Serie B champion Sassuolo, runner-up Hellas Verona and play-off winner Livorno. Hellas Verona returned to Serie A after an 11-year absence, Livorno after four seasons and this season marked Sassuolo's Serie A debut.
For the first time in the competition's history, there were five derbies among teams from the same city: Milan (Internazionale and Milan), Turin (Juventus and Torino), Rome (Lazio and Roma), Genoa (Genoa and Sampdoria), and Verona (Chievo and Hellas Verona).
2012-2013 Season
The 2012–13 Serie A (known as the Serie A TIM for sponsorship reasons) was the 111th season of top-tier Italian football, the 81st in a round-robin tournament, and the 3rd since its organization under a league committee separate from Serie B. It began on 25 August 2012 and ended on 19 May 2013. Juventus were the defending champions.
A total of 20 teams contested the league, comprising 17 sides from the 2011–12 season and three promoted from the 2011–12 Serie B. As in the previous years, Nike provided the official ball for all matches, with a new Nike Maxim Serie A model to be used throughout the season for all matches.
On 21 August 2012, FIGC allowed Serie A teams to have up to 12 substitution players on the bench for each game.
2004-2005 Season
The 2011–12 Serie A (known as the Serie A TIM after its headline sponsors) was the 110th season of top-tier Italian football, the 80th in a round-robin tournament, and the second since its organization under a league committee separate from Serie B. It began on 3 September 2011 and ended on 13 May 2012. The league was originally scheduled to start on 27 August, but this was delayed due to a strike by the players. The fixtures were drawn up on 27 July 2011.
The league title was won by Juventus, winning its 28th official Serie A title or scudetto, and first since the 2005–06 Serie A. The team completed the season undefeated, becoming the first team to do so in a 38-game league season in Italy; Perugia were undefeated in the 30-game 1978–79 Serie A, in which they finished second in the table, while Milan were unbeaten and won the title in the 34-game 1991–92 Serie A.
Since Italy dropped from third to fourth place in the UEFA association coefficient rankings at the end of the 2010–11 season, the league lost a group stage berth for the UEFA Champions League from the 2012–13 season.
