The Royal Port Moresby Golf Club is the only golf course in Port Moresby and serves as a premier sporting and social hub in Papua New Guinea. Established in 1968, it was granted its "Royal" status by Queen Elizabeth II in 2012. The club is a regular host of the PNG Open, part of the PGA Tour of Australasia.
The championship layout is a par-72 course stretching over 6,351 metres through rolling hills and tropical landscape. A tree-lined parkland design with challenging water hazards on several holes; uniquely, holes 15, 16, and 17 are known to house crocodiles.
