Description Sociedade Esportiva e Recreativa São José is a Brazilian football club from the city of Macapá, capital of the state of Amapá. The club was founded by Messias do Espirito Santo, a court officer from the Macapá Forum, capital of the then Federal Territory of Amapá (TFA), with the aim of officially participating in regional sports.
The club still has a good structure for playing football, volleyball, handball, and basketball. Within professional football in Amapá, São José and Ypiranga Clube play the biggest derby in the state (Macapá Derby).
