Giresunspor is a Turkish professional football club based in Giresun. It was founded in 1925 and re-formed in 1967 after the merger of Yeşiltepespor, Akıngençlikspor, and Beşiktaşspor. The football club is playing in the TFF First League (second level). Giresunspor played in the Turkish Super League (Turkish first league) between 1971 and 1977. It was returned to top level after 44 years following defeating Tuzlaspor 2-1 at away match in 9 May 2021.

Çotanak Stadium is a multi-purpose stadium built in Giresun . The stadium with a capacity of 22 thousand 28 spectators hosts Giresunspor 's home matches. The stadium got its name from the club's official coat of arms, which is also used as a nickname. Next to the stadium, there is an olympic swimming pool with a capacity of 1,000 spectators and a training ground.

Çotanak Stadium was opened on January 24, 2021 with Giresunspor - Balıkesirspor 2020-21 1st League 18th week match. In the match Giresunspor won 1-0, Ibrahima Baldé was recorded as the player who scored the first official goal in this stadium.
