Season Description
The 2025 English cricket season commenced on 4 April and finished on 27 September 2025.

Nottinghamshire won the 2025 Rothesay County Championship Division One title, claiming their first first-class silverware since 2010 and halting Surrey's bid for a fourth consecutive crown. Led by captain Haseeb Hameed and head coach Peter Moores, Nottinghamshire secured the championship on day two of the final round at Trent Bridge by crossing the 300-run threshold to collect the decisive batting bonus points.

Top Run Scorers: Surrey opener Dom Sibley topped the season's red-ball run chart with 1,274 runs, closely followed by Nottinghamshire's Haseeb Hameed with 1,258 runs.

Relegation & Promotion: Worcestershire finished at the bottom of the table and were relegated to Division Two. From Division Two, Leicestershire (champions) and Glamorgan earned promotion to the top flight for the following season.
