Season Description The 2024–25 NHL season was the league’s 108th season of operation (107th season of play) and featured all 32 teams competing in an 82-game regular season.
It began on October 4, 2024, with an opening game in Prague, and concluded on April 17, 2025, followed by the 2025 Stanley Cup Playoffs running through June 17, 2025.
The season culminated with the Florida Panthers winning the Stanley Cup, and it also marked the debut of the league’s newest franchise, Utah Hockey Club, following the deactivation of the Arizona Coyotes.
