Matteo Bertelle is an Italian rider born in Monselice, who has spent the majority of his career competing in the CIV series, with some seasons in the Spanish CEV and three years in the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup, where he clinched victory at Sachsenring in 2021. The young rider joined the Avintia Esponsorama Moto3 team for the 2022 season, competing under the VR46 brand. He had already made a World Championship appearance as a 'wildcard' for the Bardhal team in Misano, securing a respectable eighteenth place in his debut. In 2022, after accumulating a total of 16 points in the first 10 Grand Prix races with Avintia Esponsorama Moto3™, the Italian suffered a cruciate ligament rupture following a crash at Sachsenring, forcing him to miss the second half of the season. Recovered for 2023, he finished among the top 7 in Thailand and Qatar and secured the 18th position overall in the World Championship with the Rivacold Snipers Team. He aims to make further progress in 2024.
