Campeonato Catarinense de Futebol, also known as the Campeonato Catarinense, is the main football competition in the state of Santa Catarina, Brazil. It is through this competition that representatives from Santa Catarina are selected for national competitions. It is organized by the Santa Catarina Football Federation, which is responsible for professional football in the state.

The championship has been played since 1924 and is considered one of the most balanced in the country. In the last 96 years (since 1924), Série A has not had a champion defined in two years. In 1933 the tournament was not completed and in 1946 the tournament was not held.

One of the historical characteristics of the Santa Catarina Championship was the lack of standardization in the competition system, which changes every year, as do the rules and number of participants. The competition has had the participation of 130 clubs throughout its history. Most of these clubs are currently deactivated.

Since 1972, the championship has been dominated by the big five – Avaí, Chapecoense, Criciúma, Figueirense and Joinville – who have won all but two championships since then (those in 1992 and 2022, both won by Brusque), and have contested all but sixteen finals against each other.

Avaí won the first edition of the competition and is also the most successful with 19 titles. Next comes Figueirense, with 18 championship titles, Joinville and Criciúma Esporte Clube with 12 titles, and Chapecoense with 7 titles. These five clubs are responsible for much of the Santa Catarina Championship's success, and their rivalry is etched in the competition's history. In total, twenty-three clubs have won the competition, twelve of them more than once, from eleven different cities.

Currently, Série A is contested by 12 teams and usually held between January and mid-May. In the National Federation Ranking, Santa Catarina appears in fifth place among the 27 states of the federation. This position allows the Santa Catarina Football Federation to distribute three spots for the Copa do Brasil and three spots for Série D of the Brazilian Championship, generally distributed to the best-placed teams in the Santa Catarina Championship.
