


The Campeonato Amazonense de Futebol, better known as the Amazonense Championship, or popularly called the Barezão, is the competition for the state championship title among professional football clubs in the state of Amazonas. Organized by the Amazonas Football Federation, it is the second oldest championship in the North Region, having been played since 1914, being amateur until 1963 and becoming professional in 1964. In 1966, it became organized by the FAF. Its first champion was Manaos Athletic Club. The current champion is Amazonas, winner of the 2025 edition, when they won their second title.
The first edition of Série A was organized in 1914 and contested by 5 clubs from Manaus, founding members of the Amazonense Foot-Ball League.
According to the Amazonas Federation, the competition's most successful teams are: Nacional, with 43 titles; Atlético Rio Negro, with 16; and São Raimundo and Fast Clube, with seven titles. Manaus stands out, with six titles, as the second most successful team of the current millennium.
