Posts: 868 Joined: 2020-06-17 | I made a start on how I'd need the data to look to add to the DB. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1xKJyN9gXWSdvjdBIyl0v_ROyqV9j3Mo9vr8F7_zTbU8/edit?usp=sharing (I've enabled viewing without needing access this time lol) Some timezones might be off as I've just tied each state to a single tz, but I know its not that simple. Also there's not much that can be done with the games that don't have start times. They can be found at the bottom of the spreadsheet. But I've had some fun improving things for v2: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1eYvUXq50M_jyqICipHtp4y1NDLUaqU7MTX2InpWYBwI/edit?usp=sharing It doesn't have quite everything you need just yet, but I added: - urls for team logos, 500x500 - utc event start times, for all future games - appended " Women" to all team names - separated city, state, and venue columns I can probably get more venue/location/timezone information with some basic geolocation code and some better code organization. I haven't implemented properly associated scores yet either, but can probably do that in time as well if necessary. Let me know your thoughts on next steps etc if you're up for it! It might help me to learn a little more about how the data can be maintained and updated etc as well. Adam I've had a look through the latest spreadsheet, good work getting all the logo urls, can find and replace on the URLs to make then 512x512 (which is the dimensions we use here). There are still 216 teams without logos, which goes to show how big of an operation this is. If home games are always played at the same location then an index and match could be employed to fill in the gaps, and then manually correct any outlying events played at different venues. I do have a script for bulk adding teams, but I'd really like to get some more details first. Please can you post a link to a website with more information about it, please? Also, are you looking for the Chilean National Tennis team to be added to the Davis Cup section? | ||
