Description

The final round of the 2026 Ayla Championship will not take place, marking a quiet and somber conclusion to what was intended to be the marquee finale of the MENA Tour's "Jordan Series." The strategic narrative of a high-pressure shootout on the back nine at Ayla Golf Club has been rendered moot, as the course remains closed to professional competition. The primary hurdle for the tour is now purely administrative and safety-oriented, following the total cancellation of the event due to the escalation of regional conflict and security risks across the Middle East.

The headline story of the week is the unfortunate disruption of the 2025–26 season’s momentum. Rather than crowning a champion in Aqaba, the tour is navigating a period of indefinite suspension for its Jordanian dates. For players, the loss of this final round means a significant missed opportunity for Order of Merit points and the $10,000 winner's check. The absence of the traditional trophy ceremony on the 18th green serves as a stark reminder of how quickly external geopolitical events can stall the international sporting calendar.
