Description

The first heat of the 250SX East class at the 2026 Daytona Supercross serves as the ultimate high-pressure sprint. With only nine riders transferring directly to the Main Event, the six-minute plus one-lap format leaves no room for error in the deep Florida sand.

The opening heat of the 250SX East division provided one of the most exciting finishes of the year, as Henry Miller snatched victory on the very final lap. The race initially belonged to Landon Hartz, who grabbed a massive holeshot and led the majority of the sprint. Hartz looked set to take his first heat win of the season, maintaining a steady gap over a chasing pack that included Jeremy Hand and Bryton Carroll.

However, Miller began a late-race surge that saw him close the distance in the technical rhythm sections. On the final lap, Miller executed a brilliant pass through the split-lane section to take the lead and the checkered flag. Behind him, the battle for the final transfer spots turned chaotic. While Hartz and Hand secured their spots in the Main, a last-second lunge by Bryton Carroll resulted in a crash, allowing Marshal Weltin to steal the final automatic qualifying position in the very last corner.
