Description

The DP World Tour’s African swing arrives at the historic Karen Country Club for the opening of the Magical Kenya Open. With the course situated nearly 6,000 feet above sea level, players will have to navigate the thin air where the ball travels significantly further, rewarding aggressive driving and precision iron play. The field features a compelling mix of established veterans and rising stars, including defending champion Jacques Kruyswijk and a strong contingent of local Kenyan professionals eager to make their mark on home soil. As one of the most culturally vibrant stops on the tour, the atmosphere in Nairobi is expected to be electric from the first tee shot.

Result Description

Sweden’s Niklas Lemke and South Africa’s Casey Jarvis share the clubhouse lead after firing matching 8-under-par 62s in a high-octane opening round.

The chasing pack is led by Scotland’s David Law and Thailand’s Kiradech Aphibarnrat, who both signed for 7-under-par 63s. Law highlighted the importance of wedge play on the firm greens, while Aphibarnrat thrilled the galleries with eight birdies to keep himself just one stroke off the pace.
