Keegan McLachlan delivered a statement performance on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, to seize the solo lead after the first round of the Mediclinic Invitational. McLachlan’s objective was to kickstart his season after losing his tour card last year, and he did so in spectacular fashion by carding a bogey-free 8-under-par 63. His round was ignited by a 50-meter chip-in for eagle on the 15th hole (his sixth), followed by a barrage of birdies that left him one stroke clear of the field.
