The Livigno Snow Park sets a stunning, sun-drenched stage for the rescheduled final of the Women's Freeski Halfpipe at the 2026 Winter Olympics. Originally slated for Saturday, a heavy snowstorm pushed the event to Sunday morning, only heightening the anticipation for what many experts consider the most talented field ever assembled. All eyes are on Eileen Gu, the defending champion from Beijing, who enters the final looking to secure her sixth career Olympic medal. However, the path to gold is far from guaranteed. Great Britain’s Zoe Atkin, the top qualifier, has shown staggering amplitude in her runs, while China’s Li Fanghui brings a technical precision that has consistently challenged the top of the leaderboard. For Gu, this third run represents more than just a score; it is a chance to cement her legacy as the single most decorated freestyle skier in Olympic history.

Result Description
Eileen Gu successfully defended her Olympic halfpipe title in breathtaking fashion, saving her absolute best for her final run to capture the gold medal. After a uncharacteristic fall in her opening attempt and a composed second run of 94.00 that put her in the lead, Gu returned for Run 3 with "nerves of steel." She delivered a masterclass in amplitude and execution, cleaning up her line to score a massive 94.75. This victory makes Gu the most decorated freeskier in history with six career Olympic medals, capping off a Milano Cortina campaign where she also earned two silvers.

The final was a high-caliber showcase for the entire podium. Gu's teammate Li Fanghui secured the silver medal with a stellar 93.00, proving the depth of the Chinese freestyle program. Great Britain’s Zoe Atkin claimed the bronze with a 92.50, matching the medal her sister Izzy won in 2018 and bringing Team GB's total tally for the Games to five. Canada's Amy Fraser finished just off the podium in fourth place. Following her historic win, an emotional Gu dedicated the performance to her grandmother, who she revealed had passed away shortly before the final, describing her as a "steamship" who commanded life.
