Events with Postponement/Rescheduling

If an event is postponed (happens often in Soccer due to the multiple leagues and conflicting schedules), is a new event created or does the existing event updated? I see a strStatus associated with the event, but I can't quite tell how it works besides the values of "Not Started" or "Match Finished."

Basically, can I rely on the idEvent & dateEvent in the eventsday endpoint the stay fixed because the status would go to postponed and a new one would be created? Or would it keep the same idEvent and update the dateEvent?

If this is documented somewhere, and I missed it, I apologize.
