Scottish Highland & Lowland League results issue |

Posts: 30 Joined: 2023-04-07 | I have now added Scottish Highland & Lowland League results/tables support to my app, As I was at home yesterday when these matches finished, I updated them myself, and confirmed the updates on my app, Today I noticed that all of the Highland League results had been scrubbed along with all but one of the Lowland League. I suspect then that the automatic update feed logic is not checking the match status, before setting the result, or reseting as it was doing in many cases. Can this be addressed please? i.e. have it only update/reset a result if the match status isn't "Finished". | ||

Posts: 870 Joined: 2020-06-17 | Unfortunately it will happen to leagues which are automated. Why are you updating them manually? Is it that the results are taking too long to come through or they're inaccurate? I can chase it up if its an accuracy problem. If the results are that out of kilter and you're willing to regularly update the leagues manually it can be turned off, but it would mean that any rearranged fixtures etc don't get updated automatically, so I would advise against it. | ||

Posts: 30 Joined: 2023-04-07 | Unlike the Scottish Premiership, Championship, League One & League Two results, the Highland & Lowland league ones don't appear to update at all during match day - either as live scores and/or final results. As I said, even the day after there was only one result populated for the 17 matches that were played. I also had to correct some results for the previous week, when the Lowland League kicked off. I certainly don't want to be adding them manually for the reasons you gave. Yes please investigate further! | ||

Posts: 870 Joined: 2020-06-17 | I've contacted the provider to hopefully find out what the issue might be. Can you remember what the inaccuracies were? It might help pinpoint the problem if you can, but no worries if you can't recall. Posts: 30 Joined: 2023-04-07 | Sorry, I cannot recollect the actual result in particular. Since all of my app's calls go directly to an AWS lambda service, in order to limit calls made to thesportsdb endpoints, I was thinking that I might implement something there that allows me to optionally add my own results as an alternative source if they are not yet available from the automated feed for these two leagues. In the meantime, It would be great if you could confirm what the expectation is from these particular league feeds. | ||

Posts: 30 Joined: 2023-04-07 | Can confirm that all of the results came through for the Scottish Highland & Lowland Leagues at some point (late last night?). The results were also correct. No outstanding problem then!!! I can also confirm that my interim manual alternative results update method via a free tier AWS lambda server also works fine. Happy to provide details to anyone who wants to do similar. | ||

Posts: 870 Joined: 2020-06-17 | As the results come from a third party I can't say what the reason is for sure. To speculate, I would say they're not high priority leagues and can take longer to update. | ||
