Question about the Consistency of suggested filenames for NFL games

Good day!

I have a question about the NFL seasons and how to name files for PLEX.

The 2022 season (and recent seasons) recommend the following file name for PLEX: https://www.thesportsdb.com/event/1628656
NFL.2022-01-08.Pittsburgh.Steelers.vs.Cleveland.Browns.mkv

But if I go to an earlier season like 2012: https://www.thesportsdb.com/event/495655
the recommended file name includes the word American:
American.NFL.2012-09-09.Denver.Broncos.vs.Pittsburgh.Steelers.mkv

Is there a reason it isn't just NFL?
