Renaming a Team

https://www.thesportsdb.com/team/134630 lists the team name as "New York City" but the proper name should be "New York City FC". All their branding, wikipedia (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_York_City_FC) and acronym (NYCFC) includes the FC.

Is there a way to correct this? I cant seem to change the team name itself in the edit menu.

Team names are only changeable by the site admin - Zag.

I'd recommend changing it yourself inside of whatever program or app you're using the data with.

Alternatively 'New York City FC', 'New York City Football Club', and 'NYCFC' are all listed as alternative names.

FC and other such monikers are often stripped to save space, but I understand how they can be integral to some teams, especially ones which aren't maybe known for the sport.

Yeh we have to be careful with team name changes as it can affect a lot of other bits around the site.

I will have a think about this one.
