is there any debug command i can do inside KODI / Can i pull the code from GIT and run in an IDE and see if there are any stack trace errors etx? Only ask, as this stalls the project i was working on. Appreciate you all have lives

Yes go to system >> logging >> enable debug logging.

I've had a look at this today and found 2 issues. Hopefully its much improved now with episode matching, especially older events.

Let me know how you get on now with examples of any weird results so I can test. I already know about the issue with episode descriptions being cut off at the first line break.
