 Ovokx Posts: 1,700 Joined: 2020-06-17 | Hi Zag, As I'm working in redesigns for front and player pages adding some new features, here is one of this: Milestones! This new feature was thinking to cover player milestones that are not included on the honors sections. Milestones will be created for next achievements (to mention a few): - 3+ goals in one game (soccer) - 3+ assists in one game (soccer) - 50+ points in one game (basketball) - team records - world records - competition records - competition player of the month - competition squad of the season Milestones will be based on PNG images and will display the next info: - Milestone achivement player image - Name - Team - Milestone date - Milestone name - Competition logo - Color scheme based on the competition were the achivement was done Here you can see some examples:  https://i.postimg.cc/q73Dq00p/Captura-de-pantalla-2022-03-12-a-las-11-54-03.png  The idea for "Milestones" is not to add them as a simple image. The form to add them to the site (to be created on the player page) should also include the next fields in order to be able to link it in other site pages: - Team - Competition - Milestone date - Link (by clicking the image, it would jump to this link) - Image upload By doing this, we will be able to show these milestones in different pages of the site and sorted by milestone date, instead of by uploading date. My designs will include milestones on: - Player page - Team page - Competition page - Milestones page - Front page PS: PSD images are currently 1080x1675 px for design process (I prefer to work on big images), but I think that PNG images to be uploaded to the site will be fine as 322x500 px Any comments are welcome and specially if this feature will be implemented or not in order to keep them of the site pages redesigns or not  zag | ||

 zag Posts: 3,331 Joined: 2020-03-23 | I like it! I do wonder how scalable the PNG images are though for all sports. We would need a text alternative I think. I will get coding next week on this hopefully. I'd probably need some structure of list for all milestones... | ||

Ovokx Posts: 1,700 Joined: 2020-06-17 | I'm using gettyimages as a source for making player PNGs and they look pretty cool once scaled in Photoshop. No milestones list should be necessary as the uploaded PNG will contain all the described info by itself. All detailed info to be entered on the form (Team, Competition, Milestone date and Event link) are just info needed for sorting and to be able to display it in different pages in the the site. zag Posts: 3,331 Joined: 2020-03-23 | Assigning an image as well as a date is technically complex, what I mean is I need to think about how to do it code wise Also the way to choose the event would need to be simpler as currently there are literally millions of events, I see what you have suggested but its hard to do that safely. I wonder if it would be easier to add FROM the event rather than the player page. Just thinking out loud currently. Currently I can't think of an easy way to do this but love the idea... | ||

Ovokx Posts: 1,700 Joined: 2020-06-17 | I don't know if it could help, but maybe we can set a 2-steps process by removing the option of directly submitting the image on the creation form and once submitted (milestone will be created), then pop up the option to upload the image. Regarding where to create the milestone, I linked to the player instead of to the event because some milestones won't be directly linked to any event such Player of the month, Squad of the season, etc. For that cases we can leave the "Event" field in blank or add the link to other pages of the site zag | ||

Each way is really hard because I want it to be a drop down and not ID. I think maybe we can just add it to a player like an honor maybe? Just with an exact date... | ||

I will work on some icons to do it and present a possible look PS: Also it will be great that I can create new milestones to the DB or update existing ones in order to speed up the process and populate them | ||

Ovokx Posts: 1,700 Joined: 2020-06-17 | Hi Zag, Is it possible to create a page with the same layout of Honours with only logos (https://www.thesportsdb.com/honour_all.php), but for "Milestones" with a button of "Add new milestone" (moderators only) for each sport? Doing that and adding a button on player pages, I think it would work. What do you think? avzubkof | ||
