<plot>The Busch Clash is an annual invitation-only NASCAR Cup Series exhibition event held at Daytona International Speedway in February, the weekend before the Daytona 500. It is the first competitive event of the season and serves as a kickoff event for the NASCAR portion of Speedweeks.
Like the All-Star Race held at Charlotte, the race awards no championship points. Instead it offers a large cash purse, an arrangement that is designed to encourage participants to use the kind of all-out driving styles that are not typically seen in regular-season races.

Denny Hamlin couldn’t win the Busch Clash at Daytona for himself, but he made sure his Joe Gibbs Racing teammate did. For nearly the entire final lap in the third attempt at overtime, Hamlin pushed the mangled Toyota of Erik Jones all the way to the finish line in a race that saw only six of 18 cars running at the finish.</plot>
