<plot>The San Marino and Rimini Coast's motorcycle Grand Prix is a motorcycling event that is part of the World Motorcycle Racing season. The name of the race is a misnomer as the race has always taken place in Italy, but because there is already an Italian motorcycle Grand Prix, it was called the San Marino Grand Prix because of the track's location near San Marino. The race was first placed on the season schedule in 1981, but has been taken off and re-introduced a few times. Most recently it was re-introduced for the 2007 season and has remained through the 2017 season.

The 2018 San Marino and Rimini's Coast motorcycle Grand Prix was the thirteenth round of the 2018 MotoGP season. It was held at the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli in Misano Adriatico on 9 September 2018.

Andrea Dovizioso dominated at Misano to claim his third victory of the season ahead of MotoGP world championship leader Marc Marquez with Jorge Lorenzo crashing out from second place.
The Ducati rider muscled his way past Lorenzo on the sixth lap before notching up an impressive race pace which his team-mate and Marquez on the Repsol Honda struggled to follow.
Lorenzo and Marquez appeared equally matched and exchanged passes during the middle third of the race which enabled Dovizioso to escape up the road to build a time gap.
While Lorenzo looked to have kept Marquez in check in the closing stages, the Ducati rider’s podium bid was ended on the penultimate lap with a low side off at Turn 8. With Marquez promoted up to second place, LCR Honda’s Cal Crutchlow secured third place and his first podium since winning in Argentina.</plot>
