It is one of five invitational tournaments on the PGA Tour; the inaugural event was held 74 years ago in 1946. In 2020, the tournament is scheduled to be played June 11–14, as the first PGA Tour event staged since the interruption of the regular schedule due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
